Fortnightly community gardening at St Leonard’s Priory Park
We gather on the first and third Sunday of every month from 1pm-3pm to help transform the park into a space for the whole community. Click below to find out more and get involved.
Where is St Leonard’s?
Only a 6 minute walk from the entrance to Bow church, St Leonards Priory Park is distinct for its Memorial Gateway; Recently restored, the stone archway is the grand entrance, to what feels like Bow best kept secret garden.
What do you do there?
There’s always something to get stuck into! Regular tasks include litter picking, watering the raised beds, and gentle weeding. We also take on seasonal projects like mowing the lawn, sowing seeds, or building natural fences from garden waste to help protect our wild areas.
Not into gardening? No problem! You're just as welcome to come along for a chat, make new friends, and be part of the community.
St Leonard’s is a gift for our whole community to enjoy. It has been a spiritual place for hundreds of years and today it is a place where people of all backgrounds and faiths are welcome.
We want to be part of making St Leonard’s more beautiful for everyone, enhancing the biodiversity of the park and allowing wildlife to thrive and increase.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or you’ve never used a trowel before, you are welcome to join in. Through gardening, landscaping, food growing, composting and even prayer, there are so many ways for you to get involved.
We host a range of creative workshops and community events throughout the year, working together to benefit all of our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
St leonards has been supported in funding by Tower Hamlets Council, MPGA and Magic Little Grants (Local Giving).
